About
Thank you for visiting this little blog. The blog is dedicated to creativity and it is my hope that you will find some inspiration here. I am a gardener, a lover of all animals and live a quiet life among the tall fir trees of Oregon with four lovely kitties. Teddy, Stella, Danny and Pip are very good studio assistants.
Thank you again and I wish you and yours all the best,

Hi Joni — Are you the magical woman I knew and loved in Mill Valley 24 years ago? The one who painted a whimsical train on Michael Odawa’s front door? If so, please reply as Iwould love to be in touch again! Love, Kirby (aka Mary Kirby Yates)
Very sad to lose touch with such a good friend. Michael was visiting me on New Year’s Day and we were admiring your art which still “warm” the walls of my apartment. He suddenly remembered your middle initial “M” which allowed us to find your website. What great times we used to have and we miss your inspiration. Have returned to the cottage in Aptos many times to relive the past, but it’s not the same.
Would love to hear from you!!!
Sharon (and Michael)
Oh my heavens Sharon!!!
I apologize for the delay in this message to you. I have not been on my blog for quite some time. I am working on being more diligent with it.
It is wonderful to hear from you..and Wonderful Michael!!! How are you… Are you on your own.. remarried..
learning to fly jets! And what is Michael up to… oh dear.. so many questions.
My life is really quite boring. I just had the biggie of birthdays .. I will transpose the numbers to 56.. looks much better. I am still in Eugene, Oregon. Just working at art and hoping someone out there buys something..haha.. same song, second verse. But it is a wonderful life in art and I am still inspired every day!
I am dying to hear what you are up to!!!
Sending lots of love… and my phone is 541 344 8004
if you ever want to chat…
Love to you and Michael!!!!
Joni
Hi Joni, Just found your blog many months later and was very excited to see you found my message. Michael has been of the opinion that you do not wish to be “found”……but I don’t always believe.
Yes, I am still a single woman and have accepted the fact that finding the perfect man is not in the cards…..or perhaps I am the problem! Since selling the house on Alcatraz Ave., I have rented an apartment on a hill close to downtown Tiburon. It is quite small, but with views of the city, Angel Island, and the Bay I cannot complain. Your art decorates the walls!
I am fortunate to still have a job and commute by ferry to SF. I work for Nan McEvoy, who has an olive ranch outside of Petaluma and is the largest producer of organic, extra-virgin olive oil in the U.S. It is such a beautiful place, and you should check the website —mcevoyranch.com.
Michael still operates a movie theatre and bowling center in Colusa, CA. With the high rate of unemployment and bad economy, he is holding on by a thread and is quite discouraged. You really should see what he has created before he throws in the towel. He has an amazing talent that few people have—–and I give you credit for giving him a start! He would love to get married and have children, but hasn’t met the right person. Wayne is living with a girlfriend, but don’t know where that is headed!
Would love to see you again. Let’s talk to see what we can work out. Michael and I could always drive to Oregon (still have gas money) and explore your world! You can reach me at 415-291-9880 (office), 415-435-1841 (home), or 415-279-1841 (cell).
Will call you soon!!!!
Love,
Sharon
Hope you are doing well, and look forward to seeing you one day. Do you ever come to California? Michael and I would love to hear from you. I am sure you are busy with Christmas crafting——you are the best!!
Love,
Sharon
